Sabah, is also known as ‘the Land below the Wind’
is located on the Borneo Island, together with Sarawak, Brunei and
Indonesian Kalimantan.
Sabah is the second largest state with an area of 74,500 sq. km. Kota
Kinabalu, the state capital is the centre for the state government
administration and commercial activities. Its economy is agricultural
based mainly oil palm, cocoa and rubber. Tourism, currently the second
highest contributor to the economy is gaining more recognition due to
its lush virgin rainforest and the many beautiful coral islands that are
divers’ haven.
